Apprenticeship (Advanced) Supporting Teaching and Learning

As an advanced apprentice, candidates will work under the close supervision of a class teacher. Their duties will vary depending on how the teachers they work with plan their lessons and handle day-to-day classroom activities – however, they could find themselves supervising arts and crafts activities, helping with outings, or reading to the class.

Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Skills Council.

CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision of Pupils in Schools

Mandatory Units

  • Understand child and young person development
  • Understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Communication and professional relationships with children and young people
  • Schools as organisations
  • Promote children and young people's positive behaviour
  • Develop professional relationships with children, young people and adults
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
  • Supervise whole class learning activities
  • Engage in personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
  • Support children and young people's health and safety
  • Team working

 

CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools

Employment rights and responsibilities

As specified in the guidelines for employment rights and responsibilities (ERR) developed by TDA. The
guidelines include a completion form which must be signed by the apprentice, employer and provider as evidence that the ERR component has been successfully completed.

 


Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

As specified in the PLTS log developed by the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA). The log includes a completion form which must be signed by the apprentice, employer and provider as evidence that the ERR component has been successfully completed.
