The table below shows all the elements that are required to achieve the Plastering Apprenticeship Framework. Apprentices must successfully achieve all the elements before an Apprenticeship Certificate is awarded by the Sector Skills Council - Construction Skills.

Apprenticeship

NVQ 2 in Plastering

  • Conform to General Workplace. Safety This unit, in the context of Plastering, associated skills, and the work environment of the individual, is about awareness of current legislation and official guidance; personal responsibilities in respect of workplace safety, security and complying with warning/safety signs and the wearing of appropriate general PPE
  • Conform to Efficient Work Practices. This unit covers working and communicating with colleagues, the customer/client and people from other trades (where appropriate), so that jobs are able to progress as smoothly and efficiently as possible. It also demonstrates the ability to represent the employer/company and work to their guidelines.
  • Move & Handle Resources. This unit is about safely handling, moving and storing the materials, tools and equipment required for contracts. Both manual and lifting aids are used, to ensure healthy and safe working practices.

Level 2 Diploma in Plastering

  • Solid and fibrous plastering skills,
  • Erection and dismantling of access equipment
  • Installation of sheet materials
  • Internal solid work
  • Screeding, moulding, casting, repair and restoration.

  • Carry Out First Fixing Operations
  • Carry Out Second Fixing
  • Erect Structural Carcassing
  • Carry out Maintenance
  • Set Up & Operate a Circular Saw
