The Skills People complies with the data protection principles set
out in the Data Protection Act 1998 in relation to personal data
which you give to us via our website to the extent that the Act
requires it to do so. These principles restrict the powers of a
data controller to disclose to third parties personal data which it
is processing.
What information do we collect via the
website?
We collect three main types of information from visitors to The
Skills People website www.theskillspeople.org
- feedback (general questions and specific feedback on the
website);
- request for information
- site usage information (from session cookies* and log
files).
We do not pass on any personal information you have given us to
any other site. The system will record your email address, and
other information if volunteered to us by you, for example on the
Feedback forms. This will be treated as proprietary and
confidential.
The website contains links to other websites. This privacy
policy applies only to our site. You should always be aware when
you are moving to another site and read the privacy statement of
any site which collects personal information.
*Session Cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics to help analyse how users use
the site. This analytical tool uses 'cookies', which are text files
placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log
information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the
website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google. This
information is then used to evaluate visitors use of the website
and to compile statistical reports on website activity for The
Skills People.
The Skills People will not (and will not allow any third party)
to use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any
personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. We
will not associate any data gathered from this site with any
personally identifying information from any source as part of our
use of the Google statistical analytics tool. Google will not
associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
Neither The Skills People nor Google will link, or seek to link, an
IP address with the identity of a computer user.
