What will be studied?
This course is designed to provide many of the skills
required by employers. It is an in-depth programme that covers a
wide range of topics which will combine academic and practical
study of the skills you will need to enter the profession. You will
gain skills in VB.NET, ASP.NET, XHTML, CSS, JAVA, UML skills, OO
modelling, sructured query language, in depth knowledge of
databases. It will also enable students to become system analysts,
DB administrators and developers. By the end of the programme you
will receive a nationally-recognised qualification that will help
you seek that first position in IT.

These are optional subjects:
- Year 1:Personal Development Programme
What are the entry requirements?
GCSE English and Maths at grades A to C or equivalent, a general
education at or near an A-level standard and/or significant
commercial/ industrial experience. The student will also
need to successfully complete an aptitude test and attend an
interview.
How is it assessed?
Assessment is through coursework, examinations and work
based learning projects. You will have regular meetings with your
personal tutor to discuss your progress and to help plan your
studies. Additional support, help and guidance is also available
from the guidance team or from our Study Buddies (a network of
students offering help to fellow students).
What can students do next?
This can lead to a career as a business analyst, systems
designer, database developer, database administrator or website
developer. It also provides opportunities in information systems
security, IT management roles and network service administrator.
Alternatively, you could continue your studies for a further year
on the BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology programme to
complete the degree at the University of Greenwich.
