Who is this course for?
This qualification is primarily aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants needing to update and enhance their understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008.

What will be studied?
The aim of the course is to enable students to demonstrate that they are conversant with the IEE Wiring Regulations. There are 8 learning outcomes that relate to Parts 1 - 7 and the Appendices of BS 7671:2008. A knowledge and understanding of:

  • Scope, object & fundamental principles
  • Definitions
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Protection for safety
  • Selection & erection of equipment
  • Inspection & testing
  • Special installations or locations
  • Appendices

There are no formal entry criteria requirements for this qualification; however candidates are expected to have a knowledge of electrical science.

Assessment is by a 2-hour 60-question on-line GOLA exam sat at the end of the course
