The Level 2 Formwork NVQ provides the opportunity for construction operatives, who specialise in the discipline of formwork and joinery to demonstrate their competence in the National Occupational Standards, as defined by ConstructionSkills.

When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.

Progression
The level 2 Formwork NVQ will provide a foundation for learners to progress to the NVQ level 3 Formwork or the NVQ Level 2 Wood Occupations.

The level 3 NVQ will be a component qualification within the ConstructionSkills Apprenticeship framework.

Overall assessment method for the qualification
Individual units will be internally assessed, assessment decisions internally verified and decisions and processes externally verified. External Verifiers will have no formal links with individual centres and, where possible, EV allocations will be allocated at random to ensure that there is no bias through expectation or familiarity.
