Learning and skills outcomes
These courses will improve English language skills at
work. This helps team communication and increases productivity.
Employee confidence and responsiveness can also grow.
Programs are contextualised to industry to meet the needs of
employers. As well as improving grammar, vocabulary and
pronunciation, the training can be tailored to develop employees'
skills in the work place.
Examples include
- Customer service skills
- Formal business writing skills, such as emails or letters
- Making and taking phones calls
- Following line manager's instructions
- Understanding and following health and safety regulations
Duration
Average programs are 30 or more hours, for 10 - 15 weeks. Tailored
to suit employers. Courses run at times to meet the needs of the
business and take into account shift patterns.
Mode of study
Courses are delivered through taught classes in groups by an ESOL
trainer. They can also be tailored to support the achievement of,
or progression onto an NVQ. All levels are offered and are
accredited.
