Learning and skills outcomes
These courses will improve English language skills of
native-English speakers in the workplace. This helps team
communication and increases productivity. Employee confidence and
responsiveness can also grow.
Programs are contextualised to industry to meet the needs of
employers. As well as improving reading and writing skills, the
training can be tailored to develop the employees skills in the
work place.

- Reading health and safety notices
- Understanding company policy and regulation
- Carry out formal writing tasks
- Produce written documents suitable for a public or customer
audience
- Following line manager's instructions
Duration
Average programs are 30 or more hours for 10 - 15 weeks. Tailored
to suit employers. Courses run at times to meet the needs of the
business and take into account shift patterns.
Mode of study
Courses are delivered through taught classes in groups by a
Literacy trainer. They can also be tailored to support the
achievement of, or progression onto an NVQ. . All levels are
offered and are accredited.
