A sultry evening in June saw The Skills People host a glittering awards night at the Barbican, London. The night attended by 150 people saw learners and employers recognised for their learning, and commitment to training and development.
Master of Ceremonies was The Skills People's Mark Cook,
Executive Director of Business Development. The evening kicked off
with a very warm welcome speech from Maxine Room, Principal,
Lewisham College. Maxine highlighted the importance of
recognising and celebrating success, going on to explain why this
event was so important in The Skills People's calendar and what it
meant to learners.
Mark Cook then welcomed the winning learners and employers onto
stage where they received a trophy and certificate in recognition
of their success. The evening ended with drinks and canapés in the
Barbican's leafy conservatory.
And here what some of the guests had to say:
"What a fantastic evening and great turn out!! It was a fabulous
event!!" said Christian Nikles, Starwood Hotels & Resorts
And Sharon Holmes of London South Bank University was delighted
to see one of her learners selected for an award. She said: "We had
a wonderful time, it was fantastic. The Skills People really
put on a wonderful event - with champagne flowing - and I know Ola
was very pleased with her award. See you next year!"
